ESL
Programs
KIOSK's ESL programs have 8 levels. Each level is 8 weeks long. You
may be placed in one level for reading and writing and a different
level for speaking, depending on the results of your placement test
given on your first day. Tests every two weeks, and regular quizzes
let you see your progess. Each student has at least 2, usually 3,
different teachers per day. All programs concentrate on building structural
competency, oral skills and written skills. The first 4 levels are
common to all streams. After Level 4, students select their specialty
stream: General ESL, English for Academic purposes, English for Business
& Technology.
Elective
Courses
Variety is essential to motivate students and some of the elective
course that KIOSK offers are:
TOEFL and TOEIC test preparation; Pronunciation; English for Business;
Slang & Idioms; Writing Workshops; Conversation; English in the
Media; Canadiana. Self-study opportunites are facilitated by the computer
lab with 30 stations, all with ADSL connections, and innovative CAN8
software to improve listening and pronunciation skills.
Youth
Programs
Groups of young people are welcome at KIOSK in the winter or summer
time. With many years of experience working with young people, our
priority is to offer a secure and exciting program.
Students and parents may select the "summer in the city"
camp in Toronto or the KIOSK "Village English" camp located
in the charming small town of Streetsville, one hour outside of Toronto.
Youth programs include classes,
materials, residence or homestay, meals, and daily trips. For security
and quality, KIOSK's youth programs are second to none.
High
School Programs
The best way to get into college or university in Canada is to get
your High School credits from a Canadian high school. KIOSK International
College offers high school credits for grades 10, 11 and 12. With
a variety of academic subjects such as Calculus, Data Management,
Accounting, International Business, English Literature, all supported
by an excellent program for ESL and TOEFL, our graduates have the
advantage over others in achieving their entrance to post-secondary
education in Canada.
Student
Services
KIOSK offers a full slate of cultural, educational, travel and social
activities, always led by a teacher. Airport reception, homestay services,
counselling, visa and college / university placement services are
offered with care and professionalism. Our multilingual staff are
always available to assist with any inquiry or need.
