Study
Abroad Canada - Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island
This
is the month of fish stories and feasting! May is the beginning of lobster
fishing season, so students enjoyed a Friday lobster lunch. Staff at Study
Abroad Canada showed students how to open and devour these tasty crustaceans.
That’s not the only fish tale for this month…students also went fishing
at Ben’s Lake. In our very own fishing derby, students tried their luck
to catch the largest fish. Congratulations to In-Ho Yoo for landing the
largest fish that weighed just over 7 pounds! Please see the picture of
the fish that didn’t get away.
And what about dessert? Students tried out their talents decorating cakes
in Kensington, a small town approximately 50 km west of Charlottetown.
Each student was able to decorate his or her own cake and then take it
home. The designs ranged from beautiful to innovative! This month, students
will be visiting the ever-popular Green Gables House in Cavendish and
trying their luck at mini-golf.

Interlangues Language
School - Ottawa, Ontario
May
is tulip season in Ottawa. Every year, Holland sends a million tulip bulbs
to Ottawa to thank Canada for its help in World War II. Canadians gave
the princess of Holland a place to stay during the war, keeping her safe
from the occupation in her country. It was also Canadian soldiers who
liberated the country from Nazi occupation. In celebration of this gift,
Ottawa hosts the Tulip Festival, which takes place over three weeks. There
are many concerts and events. There are displays from countries all over
the world, vendors selling unique pieces of art and tours around the capital.
Our students enjoyed an afternoon amongst the tulips and the celebrations.
The theme of this year’s festival was world peace, in celebration of the
60th anniversary of VE day in Europe.
Springtime
also signals the opening of the Byward Market downtown Ottawa. With many
sidewalk cafes, fruit and vegetable vendors and the freshest crop of maple
syrup available, it is a wonderful way to spend a sunny afternoon! This
is also where you will find the heart of Ottawa’s nightlife, with many
pubs and night clubs, our students are discovering that Spring has another
name in Ottawa: Patio Season! Don’t forget to register for summer classes;
spaces are filling quickly!

New Canadian College website & domain
name
After
10 years, we have retired the old domain name www.cdncollege.bc.ca
as many of our 8,000 graduates had told us it was too difficult to remember.
We listened and 6 months ago, we opened our new domain name www.CanadianCollege.ca
which everyone finds much easier to remember. The problem is that not
everyone has changed their address book, despite 6 monthly email reminders
to everyone. So, please note that effective May 15th, our old website
is officially retired. All email can be sent to Admissions@CanadianCollege.ca
. Thank you so much! See you in Victoria soon!
