ESL Programs
KIOSK's ESL programs have 8 levels. Each level is 8 weeks long.
You may be placed in one level for reading and writing and a different
level for speaking, depending on the results of your placement
test given on your first day. Tests every two weeks, and regular
quizzes let you see your progess. Each student has at least 2,
usually 3, different teachers per day. All programs concentrate
on building structural competency, oral skills and written skills.
The first 4 levels are common to all streams. After Level 4, students
select their specialty stream: General ESL, English for Academic
purposes, English for Business & Technology.
Elective Courses
Variety is essential to motivate students and some of the elective
course that KIOSK offers are:
TOEFL and TOEIC test preparation; Pronunciation; English for Business;
Slang & Idioms; Writing Workshops; Conversation; English in
the Media; Canadiana. Self-study opportunites are facilitated
by the computer lab with 30 stations, all with ADSL connections,
and innovative CAN8 software to improve listening and pronunciation
skills.
Youth
Programs
Groups of young people are welcome at KIOSK in the winter or summer
time. With many years of experience working with young people,
our priority is to offer a secure and exciting program.
Students and parents may select the "summer in the city"
camp in Toronto or the KIOSK "Village English" camp
located in the charming small town of Streetsville, one hour outside
of Toronto.
Youth programs include
classes, materials, residence or homestay, meals, and daily trips.
For security and quality, KIOSK's youth programs are second to
none.
High
School Programs
The best way to get into college or university in Canada is to
get your High School credits from a Canadian high school. KIOSK
International College offers high school credits for grades 10,
11 and 12. With a variety of academic subjects such as Calculus,
Data Management, Accounting, International Business, English Literature,
all supported by an excellent program for ESL and TOEFL, our graduates
have the advantage over others in achieving their entrance to
post-secondary education in Canada.
Student
Services
KIOSK offers a full slate of cultural, educational, travel and
social activities, always led by a teacher. Airport reception,
homestay services, counselling, visa and college / university
placement services are offered with care and professionalism.
Our multilingual staff are always available to assist with any
inquiry or need.

CN Tower: Toronto's wonder of the world is the centre of tourism.
Take a trip to the top for an awesome view.
b.. Free guided walking tours of the city with leaders from the
Royal Ontario Museum. Discover architecture and history while
exploring your new neighbourhoods.
c.. St Lawrence Market is our downtown centre for fresh fruits,
vegetables, fish, meat and flowers - an abundance of everyday
and gourmet foods. The Saturday morning farmers market is a traditional
outing for many local people.
d.. Toronto Zoo houses over 5,000 animals in a huge natural setting.
Experience amazing wildlife from all over the world any season.
e.. Paintball City: get 3 hours of playtime, 100 paintballs and
protective gear, when you come to play the Paintball game.
January
a.. Ski trips to Blue Mountain are the highlight of our sunny
winter season. Beginners can take lessons and others can head
right to the hills.

Falls for excitement. Anyone want to try Blackjack, Poker, Baccarat,
Roulette, and of course the slot machines? Win a dollar or thousands.

February
a.. Romance is in the air as Valentine's Day arrives. Share a
happy day in Toronto with a loved one.
March
a.. Spring Break takes young people out of school and out for
fun. It's a perfect time for weekend trips to Ottawa, Montreal
or Quebec City. All the tourist sites have special programs.
April
a.. Torontonians wait for spring. A visit to Casa Loma to see
its charm, secret passages, towers, sweeping staircase, stables
and gardens would be a great idea on an early spring day.
May
and June
a.. So much opens again for Toronto's summer season. Try Canada's
Wonderful adventure park with rides that scare you and delight
you.
b.. Black Creek Pioneer Village is an authentic village operating
like it did in the 1800's.
c.. Harbourfront Centre on Lake Ontario features many summer festivals,
concerts and foodfairs. It is a cultural centre for many of Toronto's
nationalities. You can eat Indian curry, Italian pizza, Chinese
or Vietnamese style dishes and more all in one place. Walk near
the harbour to see fabulous yachts in the marina.
d.. When the Tall Ship Kajama is in harbour, then you can tour
the ship and go into the open waters of Lake Ontario. The ship
used to travel from Russia to Africa for 60 years before being
restored to its original beauty with 3 huge sails.
July
a.. The city is alive with parades and festivals. The Pride Parade
draws millions from all over the world to a weekend to remember.
August
a.. The Caribana festival with parades, music, amazing costumes
is famous through North America as a weekend to celebrate the
cultures of the West Indies. It's an extravaganza of fun.
September and October
a.. The Toronto Film Festival brings famous movie stars to town.

b.. Autumn color is a feature of a Canadian fall trip.
c.. See the harvest rewards and prize winning animals at a visit
to the Royal Winter fair.
d.. Thanksgiving is an occasion for family, friends and a turkey
dinner with pumpkin pie. Your host family will introduce you to
the traditions.
e.. October 31 is Halloween: Carve a pumpkin, put on a costume
and party all night.
November
a.. Canadian Aboriginal Festival: opportunity for everyone to
learn about North America's Aboriginal peoples. There is mucis,
a traditional Pow Wow and Market area.
b.. Holiday Dreams at Ontario Place: This large outdoor holiday
theme park presents fireworks and light shows, movies, rides and
huge displays of a winter wonderland. Bring your skates and try
the lakeside ice rink.
December
a.. Ontario Science Centre: ROBOT games - this is the largest
robotics competition in Canada. Teams enter their home built creations
to race or battle each other.
b.. Cavalcade of Light: First Lighting Celebration: This special
Toronto tradition celebrates the first lighting of the city's
Christmas Tree and decoration at City Hall. There is a firework
show, acrobatic and circus acts.
c.. Santa Claus Parade: For 100 years, Torontonians have enjoyed
the downtown pre-Christmas parade bringing Santa Claus to town.
Everyone joins the audience to see bands, costumes and the final
Santa Claus float.
d.. Black Creek Pioneer Village: go back in time to the 1800's
and see what Christmas was like then.
