Seasonal
Events
 What
To Do In Calgary? Calgary has a festival for every season
of the year and for each of its multicultural groups. These
festivals promise good food, entertainment dancing and music
for all. We have Winter Festivals, Lilac Festivals, National
Play Rites Festivals, Jazz Festivals, Reggae Festivals, Multicultural
Gala Nights, Folk Festivals, Rock Concerts, Comedy Festivals,
Film Festivals, Carifest Caribbean Festival, Canada Day Celebrations,
the Calgary Stampede Rodeo, Dragon Boat Races, Afrikadey!
African Festival, Hispanic Festivals. There is always something
to do in Calgary. Most of these festivals are affordable for
the economy-minded student there is good fun and lots of free
activities and food.
Students from EIC enjoy group activities together. On a slightly
more expensive note there is art and culture for the sophisticated.
Activities include: mystery theatre, dinner theatre, lunch
box theatre. There is chamber music, opera and ballet or the
Calgary Philharmonic. On the artistic side we have Art Walks,
Gallery Exhibits ad Museums Events. Calgary is rich with the
arts and culture and rush seats and student seating is available
at more reasonable prices if you can be flexible and adaptable.
For your eating and drinking pleasure we have Coffee Houses,
Wine bars, Ethnic Restaurants, Wine fests, Art and Wine Shows,
Fine Wine and Food at local exhibits, Afternoon teas at the
Dean’s House, Fall fairs and Canadian cuisine at Heritage
Park, The Rocky Mountain Wine and Food Festivals, French Cooking,
Pancake breakfasts and Barbeques. These activities are a little
more expensive but fun to do with
a group of students and a chance to celebrate your national
days and birthdays in a small group.
