Ottawa,
Ontario
Our City
 Ottawa
is Canada's national capital. Year round the city hosts a great variety
of festivals: Winterlude in February is a huge festival where Canadians
celebrate the beautiful sunny and -yes, cold, Canadian winter! Canadians
do know how to keep warm, though; we skate on the famous Rideau Canal
downtown Ottawa, we eat hot pastries and drink hot chocolate. It is a
real party with fireworks, music, ice and snow sculptures. In the spring
Ottawa celebrates the Tulip Festival: a million tulips bring colour and
tourists to our capital. Ottawa swings in the summer with the Jazz Festival,
the Blues Festival, and on Canada Day, July 1st, we just go crazy and
dress in red and white, the colours of our flag. A huge concert and a
party take place and we dance on Parliament Hill. You can't help falling
in love with Ottawa in fall, when our maple trees turn a flamboyant red.
